Layla Rystad’s poem was selected to be set to music for Mt. Si High School’s freshman year choir. The text has themes of introspection, loneliness and acceptance. The lyrics are given plenty of space to resonate within the legato nature of the accompaniment.  

This piece is accessible to a wide range of ages, from middle school to high school groups. The three parts have modest ranges, and they are easily learned as they layer like a chant. The ending can be done as a solo, or a rubato unison line with all parts.
