Letters – By Lodie Chong

Feels like I’m writing letters
To the pictures on the wall
Words I should’ve conjured
When I thought of you last fall
How long did it take?
When did I realize
I should’ve looked a little closer
Through the twisted lens of time
If I were to send you letters
I don’t know what I’d write

But I hope that he holds your hand
The way that you held mine
Though we both know you never meant
The blurring of the lines
And it’s hard for me to give these words a meaning
When the feelings have run cold
But I hope he can realize
You’re the last one of your kind

So I guess this is a letter
And it’s to you
Does he treat you so much better
Than you begged for someone to?
Cause you were my world and now he’s yours
He’s everything that you wished for
I wonder if you mean the world to him

And I hope that he holds you like
He’s afraid that you might try
Slipping out of his hands cause you
Like to bless them with goodbye
Would he cry for you an ocean of his tears
So it could mend your tattered soul?
Does he know looking in your eyes?
You’re the last one of your kind

Last one of your kind
I hope he can realize
You’re the last one of your kind
I hope he can realize
You’re the last one of your kind
I hope he can realize
She’s the last one of her kind
I know though she wasn’t mine
She’s the last one of her kind
